I’ll admit that I can be a major pessimist and finding the silver lining in things is not my strong suit. In fact, I’m sure my husband is nodding his head in agreement at this very moment. But sometimes it’s just so much easier to focus on the negative and let myself spiral.
Today was definitely one of those days. The kids had me up at 6 am as per usual, the house was a wreck and the list of never-ending to-dos was piling up in my head. I took my son to get a quick haircut (keyword being quick) and ignorantly assumed I could just walk in. I drove all the way there to find they were completely booked for the day. Frustrated at the waste of time, and already starting to spiral, I ended up driving around for another 30 minutes until I found a place that finally got us in, and this was all before I’d even had coffee. Yikes, what was I thinking?
Since we had already been gone much longer than planned, I decided on a quick and easy lunch (again keyword quick) and ended up stuck, literally, in a drive-thru for 45 minutes! And to make the experience even better, the entire time, my four-year-old was crying to use the bathroom. Finally, heading home and fuming, I got stuck in the never-ending construction that seems to be plaguing our little town. So, basically, an errand that should have taken an hour max, took up three hours of my day!
When I have a morning like this one, it’s so easy to wallow in my irritation and let it ruin my day. But I can always count on my husband to make me stop and breathe (literally, he makes me do yoga breathing to calm me down LOL), take a look around and see the positive. Lincoln ended up with a pretty dang cute haircut (and his first sucker, which he thoroughly enjoyed!), Macie had a blast getting her hair washed and basically being pampered, and Reagan enjoyed some one on one daddy time. For all of them, the morning was pretty awesome, and we still had the rest of the day to spend as a family. I could either let my anger ruin the rest of the day or I could just look for the positive and find my silver lining.
Lucky for me, I have three beautiful little reminders running around my messy living room at this very moment because nope, I still haven’t cleaned it up. Also lucky for me, I ventured out for my weekly trip to the mailbox (because I can’t be bothered to walk out there daily LOL) and discovered a box of full of silver lining, my first Rocksbox! That was definitely a great surprise and a little pick me up! Have you heard of Rocksbox yet? Are you into monthly subscription boxes? Or how about just into wearing pretty things? Ever dreamed of having an unlimited supply of jewelry at your fingertips? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Rocksbox and your personal stylist are going to be your new besties! Check them out here or click the image below!
Make A Wish
To get started, all you have to do is build a style profile by answering a few quick questions on their site, create your wish list by selecting from the enormous collection of necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets and then wait for your wishes to be granted! For only $21 per month, your Rocksbox personal stylist (I love how cool it sounds to say I have a personal stylist) will hand select items from your wish list and send your monthly box of goodies, with free shipping to boot!
Three’s A Charm
Every month, you’ll get three gorgeous pieces of jewelry and they’re yours to wear as often as you want until you’re ready to return them! Send them back, with free return shipping, and then anxiously await your next Rocksbox delivery! Love something they sent you and can’t bear to part with it? Rocksbox has you covered. That $21 fee stays as a credit on your account for that month so you can use it toward a purchase if you decide you want to keep something. How cool is that?
Bring On The Bling
Rocksbox arrives within a few days of signing up in a cute little box tied with a bow. When you first open your box, you’ll see a message addressed to you with a note from your stylist detailing each item from your wish list. I love how they make it feel like such a personalized experience.
The first items sent to me from my wish list included a Cactus Necklace in Rose Gold by Sophie Harper, a pair of Rose Druzy Earrings by Ava Rose also set in Rose Gold and a pair of Gorjana Shimmer Ear Climbers plated in 18K gold. You might be thinking what I was in the beginning, that being designer jewelry, it’s going to be totally out of my budget, but everything is actually at membership prices. My highest priced item was $52 and then don’t forget you still have a $21 credit to apply to that. Also, should you decide you need to keep everything, there’s also a deal for purchasing all three.
Of course, I’ve already found something I’m keeping this month! I’m loving the ear climber trend and these earrings are so dainty and yet sparkly enough that they can easily go from day to night. Rocksbox is such a fun way to try out new trends and see how they work for you with zero commitment. This is also so great for busy mamas who don’t have time to shop for themselves. You know what I’m talking about! Who can shop for jewelry when you have toddlers crying for toys and snacks every two seconds? Or in my case, it’s usually hot cocoa and cake pops!
While ultimately my family and the time we spend together is my true silver lining, it doesn’t hurt that Rocksbox will be delivering me a little shine and sparkle to top it off. 😉
