I’m so excited to be teaming up with ChunkaBuns to share this awesome brand with you! What mom doesn’t want high-quality clothing for her kids that will actually last more than a couple of months before they grow out of it? If you’ve been following along with me for any length of time, there are two things you might know. One, I have two-year-old twins and a five-year-old who go through a truckload of clothing, and two, I went through a brief stint where I thought cloth diapers and I were going to be friends…and that didn’t work out. So, now that I’ve learned about ChunkaBuns and Maxaloons, I’m wondering why no one told me about this before?
What exactly are Maxaloons?
If you’re like me, and not in the know, Maxaloons are bottoms that are made specifically to fit when baby got back as a result of the cloth diaper. I remember when I first put cloth diapers on my twins and thought, how in the world will I ever fit pants over these? Now I know the trick!
The other SUPER cool thing about ChunkaBuns pants is that they’re designed to grow with your child. Crazy right? Check out the sizing on their website and you’ll see just three options in their Savvy bottoms, 0 to 9 months, 9 to 24 months, and 2T to 5T. Yep, you read that right, 2T to 5T is one size. Can you imagine buying a pair of pants and having them last for a year, let alone two to three? Again, why didn’t I know this sooner?
I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical that these pants would fit both the twins and Macie, who more often than not wears girls sizes these days. Can we talk about how depressing it was to stop shopping for her in the toddler section? I was so surprised when I put a size 2T to 5T on her and they actually fit pretty well. I even put Macie in both Lincoln and Reagan’s pants and it’s crazy how one size can fit them all!
The 2T to 5T is just a tad short on Macie but still works really well as capris and looks super cute with the folded cuff at the bottom. However, this is where the true genius comes in. That little cuff at the ankle has tiny ribbons sewn into each side and when you’re ready to add more length, you simply cut the ribbons and roll them down. How cool is that?
Grow-With-Me pants are designed to fit FOUR or more pants sizes.
After cutting just one ribbon, these pants are now a perfect length for Macie. They still have one more ribbon to go, so these actually seem like they will stretch quite a bit farther than 5T. For Reagan, who is the shorty of the bunch, the 2T to 5T is a bit long, but the pants are easy to roll at the waist to remove a little length and they seem to stay comfortably rolled the entire time she wears them. Plus, the waistband, something Macie hates and why she refuses to wear jeans, is SUPER soft. Do these come in adult sizes? Actually, I already checked and they don’t, but I’m officially making a request. 😉
Even though the twins aren’t wearing cloth diapers, the pants still work well and I think the extra room in the derriere kind of just makes them that much more comfortable. I mean, let’s be honest, my kids basically live in pajamas. OK, let’s be really honest, if I’m not at work, so do I.
I personally hate wearing constricting clothing when I don’t have to and I hate putting my kids in it too. So, if I can find them something comfortable, that’s actually cute and stylish AND saves me money on clothing for three kids, that’s a triple win in my book!
