Can you believe it’s already October? Halloween is almost upon us! If you’re like me, this might inspire both excitement and dread. Halloween can be a lot of fun with kids but can also be a little stressful. I have to figure out what the kids are going to be and where to find everything. Although, it’s really just the twins this year since Macie is getting to an age where she’s a little more opinionated about what she wants to be. This year she’s going to be Shimmer from Shimmer and Shine (which, by the way, would also make a great costume for twins!).
My husband and I have had this little “deal” since Macie was born. I got to pick the costume the first year and he got to pick the second (and by the third, she was little “miss in charge”). This deal has continued on with the twins, so last year, we had a Little Red Reagan and Big Bad Lincoln, which incidentally, also inspired their first birthday party as it was so close to Halloween.
This being Halloween number two for them, means it’s Dad’s turn to pick. Wah wah wah. Thankfully, I do get some vetos. If it was entirely up to him, my babies would be running around dressed as little twin zombies or Chucky dolls (anyone here old enough to remember Chucky?). I think we’ve figured this year out but you’ll have to come back for the Halloween photo spam to find out what they’re going to be. 😉
I know there’s only so long that I’m going to be able to coordinate them at Halloween before they too become opinionated and decide that they no longer want to be so cutesy and dressed alike. Thinking about that day makes me want to cry! In my quest to find coordinating costumes, I’ve come across some amazingly cute ideas, like I just want to have more twins so I can use these in the future, they’re so dang cute!
And just where can you buy all this cuteness?
Etsy! Etsy is my go-to for adorable costumes or any themed decor, or really just anything. For Macie’s first birthday, we had a ONEderland themed party and I bought the cutest Alice dress as well as party decor, all from Etsy. By the way, this dress would make an adorable costume and maybe pair it with a rabbit or any other character from the story for twins!

Unique/Funny Themed Costumes
First up, check out the shop, BuzzBearStudio for some creative and hilarious options. There are some unbelievably cute costumes for twins and you have until October 18th to order in time for Halloween. Seriously, just go right now! P.S. I’m dying over the Cup Noodles! Bonus, these also fit into the food-themed category which seems to be super popular!
Food Themed Costumes
Sushi anyone? So stinkin’ cute! Check out The Wishing Elephant for some amazing costumes for twins. Fun fact, this sushi costume was featured on Martha Stewart!
The Costume Stop has a ton of adorable costumes for twins. From Sushi (yep more sushi!) to Dunkin’ Donuts to Peanut Butter and Jelly, their food game is strong!
In keeping with the food themes, also check out Once Upon A Time Tutus for this sweet milk and cookies collection.
Character Themed Costumes
If you’re a little more into the classics, who could pass up this adorable Mickey and Minnie from Mom’ s Crochet Corner? Check out this shop for a variety of crocheted Disney inspired costumes.
How ridiculously cute are these Where The Wild Things Are themed costumes? This theme has been super trendy over the last couple of years and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Shop BooBahBlue for this and other amazing costumes for individuals as well!
I’m having a little flashback to my childhood with this Flinstones themed pair! Lincoln and Reagan would actually make the perfect Bam Bam and Pebbles! Check out the shop RaeGun for a variety of cool costumes ranging from pirates to wizard themed outfits.
And I know this one is super popular for twins, but there is a reason it’s super popular, it’s adorable. Check out YumbabY (who happens to be in my home state of Idaho!) for Dr. Suess inspired Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats.
And last but not least, just for Macie, a little Shimmer and Shine from BaileyandAvaBespoke.
I could honestly go on forever!
